I was born in Harlem and raised in Brooklyn, growing up in the heart of New York City, the greatest city in the world! Life wasn’t always easy, but growing up with challenges taught me determination and empathy at a young age. These experiences led me to a love for mentoring and working with young people, something that has shaped my entire journey.
Nine years ago, I answered my calling to become a teacher. Since then, I’ve taught and mentored students in public, charter, and private schools across NYC. Teaching isn’t just a job for me, it’s a mission! Every student I meet reminds me of my own journey, and I take my role in their education very seriously.
By 2022, I realized I wanted to make an even bigger impact. I loved teaching, but I knew something was missing from education. Schools were preparing students for the world as it is, but not for the world they would inherit. The truth is, our world is changing fast. With Artificial Intelligence and new technology reshaping society every day, students need to be ready for opportunities that don’t even exist yet. If we don’t prepare them, they won’t be able to thrive in the future.
That’s why I created Visionary Minds Academy. Our mission is to help students with big dreams get into the best high schools in New York City and prepare for successful futures. The transition from middle school to high school is a critical moment, and the right environment can help shape a student’s path. If students end up in the wrong environment, it could be a death sentence to their dreams. We help students build the skills, confidence, and habits they need to succeed. We also create a community of like-minded students who support and inspire each other.
At Visionary Minds Academy, we believe in culturally inclusive education, where every student’s background is celebrated. We also believe learning should be fun, exciting, and meaningful. My passion is to help high-achieving students, especially those who may not have the right support, find the courage, strength, and wisdom to stay on track and reach their biggest goals. Because when students are truly prepared, they won’t just survive in the future, they’ll lead it!
“Education is a calling for me. I believe all children have the capacity to learn. It’s our jobs as educators to instill the confidence necessary to be successful!”
